What to expect from an on-site consultation

• Initial scope discussion. We review your facility type, electrical system size, number of panels and equipment locations, and any upcoming inspections to size the work.
• Data collection. Our consultant visits your facility to collect one-line diagrams, utility fault-current data, protective-device settings, conductor specs, and equipment configurations. If one-line diagrams do not exist, we develop them.
• Analysis and reporting. We perform the short circuit analysis, coordination study, and incident energy analysis, and deliver a documented report with boundaries, PPE requirements, and recommendations.
• Label installation. Compliant arc flash labels are produced and installed on all evaluated equipment.
• Training delivery. On-site NFPA 70E training covering the specific hazards found in your facility.

When to hire an arc flash consultant

Schedule an engagement when any of these apply:

• No existing arc flash study. You are likely out of compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA.
• Study older than five years, or built on a superseded edition of NFPA 70E.
• Electrical system changes, such as added equipment, a transformer change, upgraded protective devices, or a utility notice of increased available fault current.
• Missing or outdated labels, or labels that reference old study data.
• Lapsed training. Qualified persons require retraining at intervals not exceeding three years.
• Upcoming OSHA inspection or insurance audit. A current study, proper labels, training records, and a written program are the primary items reviewed.
• A workplace incident, which requires immediate review of your analysis, procedures, and training.
